Joey King Funraiser

You are invited to a special potluck fundraiser for Joey King of Veterans for Peace on Friday, February 27th at the Nashville Peace and Justice Center at 7pm. The event, which is being hosted by the Nashville Peace Coalition is intended to raise fund specifically for Joey King, a long time peace activist and organizer of the Buddhist Peace Fellowship in Nashville to support his upcoming trip to El Salvador. Guests are requested to bring a potluck dish or drink if possible. Joey King is travelling in March to El Salvador to participate in an election monitoring program.

El Salvador has suffered the effects of civil war and right wing terror for decades and there is a possibility that the paramilitary forces and death squads which impacted life there so terribly in the 1980's may be returning. As part of the efforts of the Nashville Peace Coalition to support the activites of peace both at home and around the globe, we have voted to support Joey King in his efforts as an election monitor by hosting this fundraiser potluck dinner.

The evening will begin at 7:00pm with some food and drink and then a few words from Joey King about his upcoming trip and his work with Veterans for Peace and the Buddhist Peace Fellowship. The Nashville Peace and Justice Center is located at 4732 W Longdale in Nashville on the grounds of the Southminster Presbyterian Church off of Harding Road about two miles east of I-65. If for any reason you are unable to attend this event but would like to contribute funds to help Joey out you may send a check to Veterans for Peace treasurer Michael August at 1611 Forrest Ave, Nashville, TN 37206.

Thanks for your support and we look forward to seeing you on Friday, February 27th at the Nashville Peace and Justice Center.
