Legislative Employment Protection Update

TTPAC is pleased to announce that the sponsor of HR3685 has decided to delay committee consideration of HR36585 until later in October. A broad coalition of over 100 LGBT advocacy groups from across the nation, including TTPC, remain opposed to this bill. If you are a student, please join the Facebook group, One ENDA: For the Employment Protection of All LGBT People, by going to http://www.facebook.com/n/?group.php&gid=5065064220. Through joining this group, you can increase awareness of the issue, find out how to contact your Member of Congress, and, hopefully, a large following on a social networking site will gain some much needed media attention to this issue of vital importance to LGBT people and their allies.

We need you to continue contacting members of the House of Representatives and tell them to oppose HR3685, if it should come for a vote, and to support the original Employment Non Discrimination Act, HR2015. Nobody should ever get left behind.

On Saturday, October 6, members of the Tennessee Transgender Political Coalition will appear on "Queer Talk Radio", hosted by Dr. Joyce Arnold. Queer Talk Radio can be heard in Nashville on WRVU, 91.1 FM. Queer Talk Radio airs live from 4:30 to 5:00 pm, CDT.

On Sunday, October 7, TTPC will have a table at the Tennessee Valley Pride Fall Fling. The Fall Fling will take place in Booker T. Washington State Park, 5801 Champion Road, from Noon to 6:00 pm. Please drop by the TTPC table at the Fall Fling on Sunday.
