The Southern Energy and Environment Expo

Now in its 7th year, is the largest renewable energy event in the South, and second only to the annual Midwest Renewable Energy Association event in Wisconsin. The Expo, located at the WNC Agricultural Center across the road from the Asheville / Hendersonville regional airport, features hundreds of booths with displays, demonstrations and information, as well as a packed schedule of workshops. NIRS Southeast will be offering a session on why nuclear energy is a false solution to climate change.

The Common Sense at the Nuclear Crossroads Campaign (CSNC, of which NIRS is a proud member) will be offering a workshop on projected new maps showing projected transport routes for high-level radioactive waste if it is brought to South Carolina under the new Global Nuclear Energy Partnership instead of heading west to Yucca, see: http://www.nirs.org/press/05-22-2007/1 ). NIRS will be partnering with Physicians for Social Responsibility of Western North Carolina and CSNC – for a major display and info zone at the Expo! Hope to see you!
