Commentary: Abuses

It has been reported that Senators Carl Levin and Lindsay Graham traveled
to Guantanamo Bay to be present for the secret military tribunal trial of
Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the person identified on page 148 of the 9-11
Commission Report as the mastermind of 9-11. They tell us that Khalid
Sheikh Mohammed stated that not only had he been tortured to compel
confession, but that his two children had been abducted and abused -
something that would make any parent confess to anything.


The Senators intend to open an investigation. We should insist that our
own legislators, too, support the Graham-Levin effort and find out where
they are and what has happened to the children of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed,
the person accused of masterminding 9-11.
