Commentary: Dire Guess

There is a stark contrast between the accommodations afforded to Vice
President Cheney and those for wounded soldiers. If Cheney is still able
to fulfill the duties of his office, however, he should be able to
receive a notice of impeachment. Justice demands a legal examination of
his role as Commander of NORAD when they failed to protect the country on
9-11.

With the call for 8000 more troops for the Iraqi surge, moreover, we can
guess a bloodbath.

Peace groups are organizing a rolling chorus of grassroots voices to call
Congress before the House considers the next appropriation for war,
probably next week. When we add our voices to the "Save our troops - No
war funding" call, we might add, "And be sure to make it a roll call
vote."
